Kerala Style Cardamom Tea / Elakkai chaya /Elaichi chai



Ingredients

1. Milk( low fat/ fat free/whole) - 1 cup
2. Cardamom - 2 pods crushed
3. Tea Leaves - 2-3 teaspoons
4. Sugar - 2 -3 teaspoon


Method of Preparation



Step 1. Add milk and the crushed cardamom pod to a vessel, bring to boil.( If you want you can add 1/4 cup of water to 1 cup of milk).

Step 2. When the milk starts to boil add tea powder/tea leaves stir in everything and allow it to come boil again (4 to 5 min).



Step 3. Add the desired amount of sugar at this point of time and stir well

Step 4. When the sugar is also mixed well. Turn off the stove, Strain the mixture and serve hot.

Note:
If you want you can add 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of water to 1 cup of milk. Some people like to add water some dont(amount of water also depends on individual choice).
The amount of tea (loose tea/tea leaves/tea bag) can also some times differ by brand. So if you feel the you are not getting the desired color add some more to obtain the desired color.

Strawberry Milk Shake


Ingredients
Milk (chilled)- 1 cup
Stawberry - 4 to 5
Icecream (Vanilla)-1 scoop (optional)
Sugar/Honey -- as required.

Method of preparation

Step 1. Add roughly chopped strawberries,icecream and half the amount of milk to the blender jar and blend everything nicely.


Step 2. Add Sugar/honey or any sweetner and remaining amount of milk  to the blender and blend again till everything is combined well and frothy.Serve chill.



Tips

Try to use whole milk and whole milk icecream to get a creamier shake.
Adding ice cream to shakes gives it more flavor and taste,but if 
you dont want, you can avoid it.
If you dont have fresh strawberries then use frozen strawberries 
instead.

Cook.. Season and Garnish!!

Pomegranate Juice / Anar juice



Ingredients

1.Pomegranate - 1 no
2.Sugar/Honey - as required

Method of Preparation

Step 1. Cut the pomegrante into half pieces and then quarter pieces and then take the seeds out from the fruit.Discard the white skin in between the red seeds.


Step 2. Put the pomegranate seeds in a blender and blend it nicely.

Step 3. Pour the mixture into a sieve and squeeze out all the juice and discard the seeds.(Add water if required)

Step 4. Add sugar/honey or any sweetener of your choice according to your taste. Serve immediately..

Now you can drink this refreshing pomegranate juice which is homemade and taste.

Cook.. Season and Garnish!!

Banana Peanut Butter MilkShake



This milkshake recipe is really simple and easy to make. The best part is that it just needs a few ingredients from which you can make a healthy and filling milkshake.

Ingredients
1. Milk - 1 cup
2. Ripe banana - 1 no
3. Peanut Butter - 1 tbsp to 2 tbsp
4. Honey\Sugar- as required


Method of Preparation

Step 1 . Add roughly chopped bananas,peanut butter and half the amount of milk to a blender or mixie jar and blend nicely

Step 2.  Add the remaining amount of milk and honey/sugar (if required) and blend once again till everything is smooth and creamy.


Note: 
- You can use chilled milk or frozen banana (which is peeled and chopped).
- You can line the serving glass with some chocolate syrup to give a nice look.

Boiled N Grilled Hot Dog

This is a healthy version of the popular hot dog. We have made use of the boiling method, which helps cook the sausage with no oil. The other benefit of this method is that, some of the fat and salt inside the sausage also gets reduced this way. This is a quick recipe to make, which can be used as a snack.



Ingredients
1. Beef sausage - 4 nos
2. Hot dog bun - 4 nos
3. Tomato Sauce/Mustard sauce - as required
4. Lettuce - 3 to 4 leaves chopped
5. Mayonnaise - as required

Method of Preparation

Step 1. Boil the sausage 


Step 2. Without oil put the sausage on a nonstick or any pan on low heat till it gets a slight golden color.


Step 3.{optional} Take the hot dog bun and toast it (if you like you can use butter while toasting)





Step 4. Assemble the hot dog by spreading mayonnaise as required. Keep the hot dog inside the bun and put desired amount of lettuce. Add some amount of tomato sauce or mustard or any sauce of your choice.



Note:

You can avoid or make use of less amount of sauce for a more healthy choice
You can use wheat buns instead of white buns and make it more healthy.

Banana Peanut Butter Sandwich

This is one of the quick breakfast that we can make in our home. It is not only quick and tasty, but also healthy.

Banana Peanut Butter Sandwich


Ingredients
1. Wheat Bread slices - 4 nos
2. Banana - 1 fully ripe
3. Peanut Butter(crunchy/smooth) - 2 to 3 tablespoon
4. Butter (optional)

Method of Preparation
Step 1. Peel the banana and mash it nicely with a fork.

Step 2. If you are serving it for kids you can apply some butter on the bread slices
Step 3. Take a bread slice and spread peanut butter on one side of the bread.

Step 4. Take another bread slice and spread mashed banana mixture on one side of the bread.

Step 5. Assemble both the bread pieces with peanut butter and banana mixture.
Step 6. Toast/grill both sides of the bread slices till it become golden brown.By then the peanut butter and banana mixture will melt into a great consistency.



Step 7. Cut the sandwich into triangle pieces and serve hot with a glass of milk.

Note:

  • For this sandwich try to use the banana which is fully ripe. If the banana is not completely ripe the taste can change.
  • You can use white bread or wheat bread.
  • You can any variety of peanut butter you may like.
  • For kids you can serve this with a glass of milk for breakfast and make it a complete meal.
  • For adults serve with tea or coffee.

Easy Grape Juice

This is a very healthy and delicious juice that everyone will enjoy.And it is easy and quick to make with readily available ingredients.


Ingredients
1. Grapes - 1 lb
2. Sugar/Honey - as required


Method of Preparation

Step 1. Wash the grapes removing it from the stalk and clean it thoroughly.


Step 2. Put the clean grapes in a blender and blend it nicely.
Step 3. Pour the mixture into a sieve and squeeze out all the juice.
Note: Add water if required.

Step 4. Add sugar or honey or any sweetener of your choice according to your taste.
